In this course we will focus on some important problems that modern society faces within the range of applied ethics. By reading a number of academic texts taken from various sources and discussing case studies, students will have the chance to evaluate different arguments, utilizing different approaches such as sociological, theological, and psychological.
Among some questions we will be pondering during the course are:
Would the world be better without animal agriculture?
Are acts of ecotage equivalent to acts of terrorism?
Should the right to communicate information be unlimited?
How might genetic engineering save animal lives?
